Coming together to connect trails throughout New Jersey.

Let’s keep the conversation going!

Join trail planners, managers, and enthusiasts throughout the Garden State in the New Jersey Trails Action Network (NJTAN), a new nonpartisan, non-political group of individuals, organizations, and agencies with a strong interest in trails and greenways of all types who are willing to cooperate and collaborate.  With your participation and support, NJTAN will:

Champion

trail initiatives throughout the state and contribute to the development of a statewide system of trails and greenways initiatives.

Facilitate

collaboration and communication about all aspects of trails from design and construction to state-of-the-art programs and policies to funding opportunities.

Leverage

public support, as appropriate, for funding for trail design, construction, and maintenance.

Educate

policymakers, trails professionals, and advocates at all levels about the value of trails for health and recreation, economic development, alternative modes of transportation, and tourism.

Promote

programming on trails and efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion from concept and location to programming on trails.

Our Style:  Comprehensive and Collaborative

The New Jersey Trails Action Network will embrace trails and greenways of all types whether on land or water; in urban, rural, or backcountry, single or multi-use, stand-alone, or part of extensive trail networks.

For maximum impact, NJTAN will collaborate with and amplify the work of agencies, partners, and other trail organizations throughout the state.
